Memorandum of Understanding signed July 27, 2005 between Montreal International and HUPO
John Bergeron, President of HUPO (Jan 1, 2005-Dec 31, 2006) and Mr Paul Stinson, HUPO Director General (Jan 2005 - Nov 2005) met officials from Genome Quebec, McGill University, and Montreal International at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between HUPO and Montreal International. Mr. Marc Fortier, President and Director General, signed on behalf of Montreal International, which has committed to contribute to the salaries of the headquarter staff for the next five years. This will ensure that the headquarters for HUPO International will be located in Montreal, Canada for the foreseeable future.
"As the HUPO President, I am thrilled with the support that our organization has received from Montreal International. They were instrumental in bringing our international headquarters to Montreal." Dr. Bergeron stated.
Mr. Stinson added, "It is a pleasure for me to co-sign with Montreal International this important Memorandum of Understanding. This is a clear signal of Montreal's interest in attracting organisations like HUPO to this wonderful city."
