Update: Sep 2010 - The Chair is working on organizing a biomarker initiative that would be focused on common diseases (cancer, cardiovascular, lung diseases etc) and that would take advantage of cohorts that encompass well over a million subjects from throughout the world. This initiative would also tie in potentially to HPP. Discussions regarding this initiative have taken place at meetings that were held in the past year (Washington, Paris, Tokyo). Once a concrete initial plan has been developed, It will be brought for HUPO considerations.
