We are hiring for a Director, Advanced Proteomics Research to augment and lead a growing portfolio of collaborative research programs with proteomic and multiomic research teams across academia, biopharma and the life sciences industry.  This individual will be responsible for the study design strategy in each of our research programs and be a key leading member of our cross functional collaboration teams as they work to investigate interesting biology and demonstrate the utility of our novel single-molecule detection methods.  This role will also drive the drafting and publication process of our work and will engage with the proteomics research community by presenting our studies externally at relevant industry seminars and conferences.

  • PhD and 10-15 years of experience in cell biology, biochemistry, proteomics, or biomedical research. 5+ years of leadership experience is required
  • Excellent communication of complex scientific and technical concepts, and the demonstrated ability to think creatively in the application of novel technologies to address research interests
  • A strong track record of project and team leadership, both internally and externally
  • The demonstrated ability to learn quickly and dig into the current state of research in new fields
  • Experience developing research plans and projects for collaborative teams
  • Demonstrated strong science and technical writing skills with a track-record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and medical/scientific conferences
  • Highly analytical; capable of reviewing, evaluating, interpreting, and presenting complex data
  • Deep experience with proteomics and/or multiomics research tools and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence senior executives, and the capacity to develop, communicate, advocate for, and execute upon a scientific strategy
  • Presentation skills and gravitas to represent Nautilus Biotechnology to external constituents, including KOLs, partners, and the larger proteomics community
