Summary of position

Paleoproteomics This is an opportunity to push a technological envelope to gain insights into the evolution of humans and other species of the Ice Age and beyond. The work will include improving and developing methods for bioinformatic retrieval, authentication, and reconstruction of ancient protein sequences from extinct populations, adapting population genetic and phylogenetic approaches, and applying the methods to data from fossils. The project will be done in close collaboration with Bram Snijders, head of the Mass Spectrometry Proteomics STP at the Crick Institute, and other collaborators at the Crick and internationally.
