EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS
ECR Activities
Since its inception in 2015, the HUPO Early Career Researcher (ECR) Committee has become an integral part of the HUPO and wider proteomics community. Our primary mission is to create a supportive and collaborative environment that empowers ECRs to navigate the challenges of academia and accelerate their professional growth.
With over 30 members from across the globe, we achieve this by fostering international collaboration, advancing the education of ECRs in proteomics, and ensuring that they have a powerful voice within the HUPO community.
Year-Round ECR Activities:
Online Panel Discussions
The HUPO ECR Committee hosts year-round online panel discussions designed to empower early career researchers in the proteomics community. These sessions revolve around the essential themes of Career Development, Mentorship, and Support, tackling practical topics crucial for professional growth, such as “The Mystery of Grant Writing” and “Getting Recognized for Your Work.”
To stay updated on our upcoming discussions, follow HUPO on social media and subscribe to the HUPOST.
In-Person Networking Events
Networking and making connections is at the heart of the HUPO ECR’s goal. Most recently, the HUPO ECR collaborated with their long-term sponsors Mass Dynamics to host “Connect: Boston”, an in-person event for ECRs and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to allow ECRs to discuss and share their outlook on all things proteomics. If you’re interested in organising an in-person networking event with the HUPO ECR please contact Livia Rosa-Fernandes (Co-Chair) and Charlotte Hutchings (Co-Chair).
